Efektivitas Penerapan Media Pembelajaran Berbasis Etnomatematika Terhadap Pelajaran Matematika Materi Bangun Ruang Kelas V

Abstract


The world of education cannot develop without the influence of technology and learning media. Mathematics is an example of a lesson that can use learning media, mathematics is a lesson studied at the formal education level. Therefore, in this learning, there are practices such as practice using ethnomathematics-based learning media. The problem students experience in learning mathematics is the difficulty in understanding mathematical concepts. The cause of this problem is that educators still use learning methods that are not appropriate to the situation and cultural background of students. Ethnomathematics is a form of culture-based education. Based on this, researchers used ethnomathematics learning media to conduct mathematics learning on spatial material. Researchers conducted research using a Quasi-Experimental Design with the Nonequivalent Control Group Design type. The subjects of this research were two class groups, namely the control group and the experimental group. The analysis results obtained show that both data are normally distributed, the data is homogeneous with the t-test on the post-test data, and if interpreted there are differences in student results between the two groups. This is shown by the results of the t-test which produced significant values of 0.031 and 0.034, which means that the value is smaller than 0.05 so that Hₒ is rejected, meaning there is a difference. Ethnomathematics is effectively applied in elementary schools. The majority of students responded well, with the interest shown by students in learning ethnomathematics with learning media that connects subject matter with culture.
