Strategi Pembinaan Karakter Percaya Diri dan Disiplin Siswa Kelas VI SDN 010115 Orika

Abstract


Education does not only play a role in educating students but also forms and fosters good character for students. In education, schools play an important role in helping students have good character. The purpose of this research is to find out, identify, and describe strategies applied and their implications for grade VI students of SDN 010115 Orika in fostering self-confidence and discipline. This research is qualitative research with a case study method. The research subjects were students of class VI SDN 010115 Orika and conducted observations, documentation studies, interviews, and questionnaires collecting data. In this study, data were obtained that the self-confidence development strategy was through sharing results of reading in class which was included in the moral knowing strategy, and students became flag ceremony officers which was included in the moral acting strategy. The discipline character-building strategy applied is the daily picket habituation program by cleaning the class after studying and taking turns leading prayers before studying. The discipline of maintaining personal hygiene, namely always wearing a mask and washinghands before and after studying and also school rules, namely rules for entering school, and rules for using school uniforms as determined. Implications strategy resulted in a questionnaire with 94% of students answering correctly and 6% of students answering incorrectly. The correct answer is the expected response according to the statement in the questionnaire regarding student’s self-confidence and discipline. Based on the number of correct answers, namely 94%, the character of self-confidence and discipline is inherent in students. Thus, strategies implemented are effective efforts in fostering the self-confidence and disciplined character of students in schools.
