Pengaruh Padlet Terhadap Tingkat Keterampilan Menulis dan Berkolaborasi pada Siswa Kelas 4 SD Harapan Kasih

Abstract


The utilisation of technology in teaching activities is no longer a new thing in education. Appropriate utilisation of technology as a learning medium can help teachers improve student competence. However, in practice, it is still often found that teachers have not utilised the use of technology-based media in the learning process, for example, Padlet. This media is still unfamiliar to some teachers that researchers met at school. In this study, Padlet was used to support language learning while creating a collaborative learning atmosphere in an online classroom setting. This study aims to determine the effect of Padlet utilisation on the level of writing and collaboration skills in grade 4 elementary school students. The research method applied was a pre-experimental method with one group pretest-posttest design. The results of this study showed an average difference in writing skills from the original average of 71 to 83 and collaboration skills from the original average of 53 to 82. In addition, the paired sample t-test results also showed a significant effect of using Padlet on the value of students' writing and collaboration skills. It can be concluded that the use of Padlet media has a significant effect on improving writing skills and collaboration skills in fourth-grade students at Harapan Kasih Elementary School. Thus, Padlet can be used as one of the alternative media for teaching writing and collaboration skills.
