Pemanfaatan Gerakan Literasi Digital dalam Mata Pelajaran IPS di Sekolah Dasar

Abstract


Primary school students who are now filled with Gen Z are a generation that is expected to live and be familiar with technology. Technology will become a part of life that will support all aspects of life. Social Science learning is essentially a lesson that concerns the study of society and its interaction with individuals, social institutions, politics, and the environment in society. 99% of elementary school students have used and have smartphones, which means that elementary school students have to start their learning using technology so that the negative impacts that may be caused by technology can be prevented or minimised. For this reason, this research aims to utilise the digital literacy movement in social studies subjects in elementary schools by using a descriptive qualitative approach and a literature study research method. The data sources used are derived from secondary data from national and international journals, national seminar proceedings, and theses with a time interval of the last 3 years. The presence of digital literacy activities in schools has goals and uses to build and strengthen student character in the digital era. Social studies subjects at the elementary level are designed to help students participate, understand, and have good actions in relation to the surrounding social community, which is very relevant to digital literacy. Digital literacy is considered very important in monitoring and paying attention to the use of technology by students. Moreover, social studies learning is learning that teaches to return to society. So it should be in learning social studies that technology has been used and utilised.
