Penerapan Game Edukasi Educandy dalam Meningkatkan Kosakata Bahasa Inggris Siswa Kelas V Materi Shape

Abstract


Learning English is said to be a subject that is of little interest to students.  There are still students who have not mastered English vocabulary in practice, so it is necessary to apply interesting and fun learning media.  This is what makes researchers apply learning media with educational games Educandy to increase the English vocabulary of shape material.  The research was conducted to find out how to apply the educational game Educandy and to find out the results that have been applied to improve the students' English vocabulary for shape material.  The research subjects were fifth-grade students of SDN Krenceng I Cilegon City.  The method used in the experiment was divided into an experimental class and a control class with the research instrument used was a test.  The data analysis technique used is the Mann-Whitney Test.  The results of this study indicate that the application of the educational game Educandy is used as a learning medium to increase the English vocabulary of fifth-grade students in shape material.  The results of the Mann-Whitney statistical test obtained a significance asymp of 0.01.  Based on the results of the discussion that has been linked to relevant theories and previous research, it can be concluded that the statistical test data shows a value of 0.01 < 0.05 where H0 is rejected, Ha is accepted, meaning that there is a difference in English vocabulary skills between the control class and the experimental class.  Thus, Educandy influences the English vocabulary skills of the shape material.
