Paradigma Pendidikan Inklusif sebagai Upaya Memperluas Akses dan Perbaikan Mutu Pendidikan
Abstract
Secara konseptual pendidikan inklusif terkait erat dengan konsep yang mendasari pendidikan untuk semua (education for all) dan konsep tentang perbaikan sekolah (schools improvement). Konsekuensinya, inklusi harus dipahami bukan sekedar memasukkan anak penyandang cacat ke dalam sistem, tetapi lebih kepada persoalan mengadaptasikan sistem (isi kurikulum, pendekatan, struktur dan strategi pembelajaran) kepada semua anak. Sistem lah yang harus disesuaikan dengan keragaman anak. Inklusi juga harus dipandang sebagai upaya mempromosikan pendidikan dasar untuk semua atau peningkatan akses dan peningkatan sekolah melalui pemberian layanan yang berkualitas pada semua siswa. Jika ini yang terjadi, maka paradigma pendidikan inklusif akan lebih bermakna bagi semua.
