TINGKAT PEMAHAMAN PESERTA DIDIK MENGENAI POTENSI WILAYAH DI KARIMUN KEPULAUAN RIAU

Abstract


Karimun is one of the districts in the Riau Islands Province. The total area is around 7,984 km² and borders with Singapore and Malaysia. Even though it is only a small island, it has diverse regional potentials, including marine, forest, tourism and mining potential. This study aims to determine the level of students' understanding about the potential of the region in Karimun kepulauan Riau. This study used a survey method with a quantitative approach. The sample in this study amounted to 300 students from six schools in Karimun. Data collection techniques used questionnaires, literature studies and documentation. Data analysis in this study used percentage analysis. The results indicate that the level of students' understanding regarding the region's potential of 70% was in the high category. Based on the results of these studies, it can be concluded that, students' understanding about the potential of the region were in a good level.
