Abstract


This study aimed to te st the effectiveness of the gro up guidance and counseling program 10 improve self-regulation learning, academic self-efficacy and academic achievement This study uses a quasi-experimental de sign with sample of eighth-grade students whose low academic achievement in junior high school of Al-Biruni Cerdas Mulia. Sample of 27 people divided into three groups randomly, the control group, a group of academic guidance on study skills (BKB), and group counseling combined with academic guidance on study skills (KKBKB). This study uses Academic Self-Regulation Questionnaire, Academic Self-Efficacy Scale, imerview guides, and UAS IPA. The research findings indicate that the low academic achievement's le amers have characteristics of self-regulation learning and academic self-efficacy which is low. Tests showed that the KKBKB effective in improving self-regulation leaming, academic self-efficacy and academic a chievemen when compared with the control and BKB group. Effectiveness of KKBKB group members is concerned with higher internal motivation, better learning plans and strategies, higher academic goals, higher self-efficacy in achieving its objectives and implement leaming strategies, more disciplined and consistent in implementing learning strategies, more able to overcome barriers of learning. and having better satisfaction on leaming outcomes.
