Morphological disorder in speech production patient with Wernicke's Aphasia Post Typhoid Meningitis
Abstract
This study examines language disorders on language production by examining a case of an informant with Afasoa transkortikal campuran - who has a disorder in the language area caused by the encephalitis virus so that the informant experienced interference with speech production when expressing thoughts called - in the form of difficulties in forming reduplication. The purpose of this study is to reveal the difficulty of language coding from inflectional morphology structures as a form of expression in the speech production of post-encephalitic - sufferers in terms of reduplication. To achieve this goal, this study employed a qualitative case study approach involving an intrinsic single case studyto collect language data in the form of language disorders in word paradigm model reduplication of patients with post-encephalitis Afasoa transkortikal campuran - by referring to (Booij, 2018). Conclusions regarding the difficulty expressing language codes in the morphological aspects of patients with Afasia transkortikal campuran - after encephalitis in speech production include 1) informant who has difficulty expressing language codes in the form of inflectional morphology on nouns, verbs, and adjectives;2) Fixed speech pattern in producing morphological inflections in patients with Afasoa transkortikal campuran - after encephalitis repetition of initial syllables + basic form + suffix -an. Based on these findings, patients with post-encephalitis Afasoa transkortikal campuran - have difficulty expressing language codes in aspects of inflectional morphology and the informant has a grammatical pattern of morphological inflections in expressing his language code.
This study examines language disorders in the form of speech production in the case of an informant suffering - from aphasia’s Broca caused by the encephalitis virus which produces. The research is to reveal the production of inflection as a form of expression of the informant's speech production. To achieve this goal, this research uses a qualitative case study approach involving an intrinsic case to collect language data. The research findings illustrate that informant produce inflection in the form of inflection production through a code-mixing process such as on the words 'tutupin' and 'dibledogin'. Apart from that, the informant also produced verb inflections used by language users in general through the process of prefixing verbs on the words 'ngorejat, nyokot, dibawa, dibanjur, arindit, areunggeus, aratos, and bertarung'. The production of verb inflections in the infixation process is the words 'dariuk' and 'raos'. The production of a verb, noun, and adjective inflections in the process of suffixing the words ulaheun, nyiapkeun, balonna, tingali, ngantosan, kahilapan, and kadurukan as well as the production of a verb, adverb, and noun inflections that are not produced by language users in general, namely the production of the words menyokot, pagina, uangna, bertarungan, keinditan, and kehurungan.
