TRANSFORMASI BUBUNGAN TINGGI PADA RUMAH TINGGAL MODERN
Abstract
In this research, the term Bubungan Tinggi (High Roof) is referred to the traditional Banjarese house. Bubungan Tinggi is a monumental artefact in South Kalimantan This specific building has transformed into an iconic buiding, representing the collective memory of the Banjarese people, with its distinctive typology and anatomy. The purpose of this research is to transform features of Bubungan Tinggi into modern houses. In its transformation process, features of the Bubungan Tinggi are identified in its core elements, characterized by its geometrical objects. Precedential geometric tracing by Peter Eisenman is adapted in the transformation process, described in its three dimensional form. The method used in this research is experimental design. This method reveals numerous transformation models can be conducted through introduction and identification of the Bubungan Tinggi, observation of objects in case studies, transformation approach, transformation techniques and its application, and transformation modelling. There are various modelling outcomes of this resaerch: one (1) facaded building in narrow parcels of land, two (2) facaded buildings on corner lots, and models of tranformation on large parcels of land.
