Fathi Ikasari

Abstract

This article explores the role of guidance and counseling services in developing critical thinking skills among students. Guidance and counseling are essential processes facilitated by teachers or counselors in schools to support optimal student development. Critical thinking is a vital cognitive skill necessary for the 21st century, helping students make reliable and informed decisions across various aspects of life, including academic, personal, social, and career domains. The research aims to identify effective guidance and counseling strategies that enhance students' critical thinking abilities. By reviewing previous studies, the article highlights how guidance and counseling services can significantly contribute to fostering these essential skills. The findings suggest that structured guidance and counseling programs can play a pivotal role in nurturing critical thinking, thereby preparing students to navigate complex challenges in their academic and personal lives
