PENGEMBANGAN KIT FISIKA UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN GENERIK SAINS DAN MOTIVASI BELAJAR SISWA SMA

Abstract


This study aims at developing instructional media kits to improve the generic skills of science and student learning motivation. This research uses Research and Development approach with Four-D model. We conduct the experimental research with the Initial Test model - The One Group Pretest–Posttest to test the effectiveness of the developed kit. The multiple choice instrument is used to measure students' generic science skills, while student learning motivation is measured by a questionnaire adopted from the ARCS (Attention, Relevance, Confidence, Satisfaction) model. The subjects of this research are 20 high school students of XII Natural Science Class. The results show that the developed characteristics enable students to optimize their ability to observe the phenomenon, collect observation and data measurement, calculate the speed of sound voiding in the air, and finally make conclusion. Furthermore, this media also contribute to the improvement of generic science skills and student learning motivation. Therefore, the media kit of Physics is one of the learning materials that should be used as a core supplement in improving the quality of learning and helping to build students' thinking skills.
