THE INFLUENCE OF HEALTH EDUCATION ON CHANGES IN COMMUNITY KNOWLEDGE ABOUT HYPERTENSION IN RW 03 MARGAMUKTI VILLAGE
Abstract
Based on the Results of the Indonesian Health Research (Riskesdes) in 2018, the prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia, which is a low-income country, showed an increase of 8.3% from 25.8% to 34.1 people with an estimated number of sufferers of 63,309,620 people. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Health Education actions on the level of knowledge about hypertension in the community of Margamukti Village RW 03 before and after Health Education was carried out. The research method used was the normality test and statistical test with observations of 30 respondents regarding the effect of Health Education interventions. The data obtained from the questionnaire results were then processed and analyzed by comparing before and after the Health Education intervention was given using SPPS For Window version 16.0. The results obtained from the pre-test and post-test were that the level of knowledge increased from 60.66% to 78.66%. The paired test showed that there was an effect of Health Education interventions on the level of knowledge of the community of Margamukti Village RW 03 regarding the handling of hypertension with a p value = 0.000 (α <0.05). Conclusion: There is a significant difference between public knowledge about hypertension before and after the Health Education intervention and questionnaires were given to the public. This can be used as a forum for the public to develop the value of knowledge and education, in addition, these efforts are used as efforts to improve the health of the community that is healthy, nutritious and synergistic, especially in Margamukti Village RW 03, Sumedang Regency.
