RANCANGAN BAHAN AJAR BERBASIS TEORI VAN HIELE PADA MATERI VOLUME BANGUN RUANG KELAS VI SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract


This qualitative research focuses on designing teaching materials based on Van Hiele's theory for sixth-grade elementary school volume material. Van Hiele's theory describes students' levels of geometric thinking, progressing from concrete to abstract through five levels: visualization, analysis, sorting, formal assignment, and accuracy. The teaching materials integrate these levels, aligning with competencies 3.7 and 4.7 of the 2013 curriculum, emphasizing volume concepts. The study addresses the low learning outcomes of sixthgrade students at SDN 196 Sukarasa, where more than 50% scored below the minimum competency criteria (KKM). Contributing factors include monotonous and unclear teaching materials that fail to motivate students to engage independently. The Delphi method was used, involving consensus from six experts (material, language, and design) over two validation cycles. Material experts rated the teaching materials at 100% and 97% (very valid), linguists at 95% and 100% (very valid), and design experts at 82% and 95% (very valid). The results show that the teaching materials are highly feasible and valid for classroom use. The final product, titled "Build a Space Around Me", incorporates Van Hiele's theory to enhance understanding and engagement in learning volume concepts, offering an innovative, clear, and visually appealing resource for students.
