Tingkat Depresi Mahasiswa di Masa Pandemi COVID-19

Abstract

During the current COVID-19 pandemic, students have to carry out activities online. This activity often causes psychological problems, one of which is depression which affects students daily activities. This study aims to determine the level of depression in students during the COVID-19 pandemic. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative. Data is collected through a survey with the help of google form. The measuring instrument used is the DASS scale (Depression Anxiety Stress Scale). The research participants were 530 students from Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta who were drawn from 10 different faculties. The results showed depression with normal category was 335 students (63.20 percent), depression with mild category was 128 students (24.15 percent), depression with moderate category was 65 students (12.26 percent), and depression with severe category. as many as two students (0.04 percent). The conclusion of this study shows that the majority of students' depression level during the COVID-19 pandemic was in the normal category, however there were 12.30 percent in the moderate and severe.

Abstrak

Masa pandemi COVID-19 saat ini menyebabkan mahasiswa harus melakukan aktivitas secara daring. Aktivitas ini tidak jarang menimbulkan masalah psikologis, salah satunya depresi yang mempengaruhi aktivitas mahasiswa sehari-hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat depresi mahasiswa selama masa pandemi COVID-19. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah kuantitatif deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui survei dengan bantuan google form. Alat ukur yang digunakan skala DASS (Depression Anxiety Stress Scale). Partisipan penelitian adalah 530 mahasiswa Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta yang diambil dari 10 fakultas yang berbeda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan depresi dengan kategori normal sebanyak 335 mahasiswa (63,20 persen), depresi dengan kategori ringan sebanyak 128 mahasiswa (24,15 persen), depresi dengan kategori sedang sebanyak 65 mahasiswa (12,26 persen), dan depresi dengan kategori berat sebanyak dua mahasiswa (0,04 persen). Kesimpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tingkat depresi mahasiswa selama masa pandemi COVID-19 ini mayoritas dalam kategori normal, namun demikian terdapat 12,30 persen dalam kategori sedang dan berat.
